The benefits of recycled paper packaging

Using recycled content in packaging is an important measure for the future of our circular economy. Not only by reusing, repurposing and recycling do we increase the productivity of manufactured materials but it also helps to lower the overall environmental impact of packaging by:

  • reducing water, chemicals and gasses used in the production of virgin materials
  • reducing land clearing needed in the production of paper

The production of recycled paper also:

  • emits 40% fewer greenhouse gases
  • uses 26% less energy

From 2018-19 in Australia, 2,934,000 tonnes of packaging were sent to landfill which caused an additional 1,950,490 tonnes of CO2 emissions to be added to the atmosphere. Recovering and reprocessing materials will therefore directly cut emissions by diverting materials from landfill.

Our recycled paper solutions

Paper packaging products can easily be substituted with recycled paper contents. Our paper boxes and bags can all be customised and produced using recycled paper. We use a variety of eco-friendly paper including Materica made from 20% recycled certified FSC paper, Woodstock made from 80% recycled certified FSC paper and Symbol freelife paper made from 40% recycled fibre content.

We also have our Crush Agro-industrial waste paper made from 40% post-consumer recycled waste and the process residues from organic products such as citrus fruits, corn, olives, coffee, kiwi fruits, cherries, lavender, grapes, hazelnuts etc replacing up to 15% virgin tree pulp.
